Parent Teacher Organization
Purpose: To foster and enrich the educational efforts of teachers, Immaculate Conception School staff and parents in the development of outstanding young citizens by:

Building positive relationships between the Immaculate Conception School staff and school families.

Raising funds to enhance the students' education.

Adding a degree of excitement through the sponsorship of school activities.

Actively promoting, advertising and marketing the value of the Catholic education provided at Immaculate Conception.

Providing educational incentives in the form of, but not limited to, scholarships, field trips, classroom needs, etc.
Membership: All Immaculate Conception School families
Meetings: The PTO meets quarterly on Monday evenings. In addition, a spring and fall fund raising event is held requiring many volunteers.
How PTO dollars are spent
School improvement projects:

Installation of new lighting in all school hallways

Placement of ceiling fans in all classrooms

Re-surfacing of the school playground

Purchase of new playground equipment

New desks for all classrooms

Reconstruction of school display case (current project)
Annual program and classroom support:

Teacher classroom allowance

Art supplies

Purchase of Weekly Reader or other classroom periodicals

May Crowning

First Communion flowers

Treats for All Saints' Day, the Feast of the Immaculate Conception, and Catholic Schools Week

$1000 scholarship for a graduating senior who completed the sixth grade at Immaculate Conception School

Classroom "specials"(enrichment classes requested by the staff)

Babysitting classes for 5th and 6th graders

Purchase of classroom supplies

Equipment needs for athletic activities
-
Purchase of promotional advertisement in the local newspaper
