APRIL VOLUNTEERS OF THE MONTH
I.C. School has chosen to honor Brenda Robinson and Janet Ramsey as volunteers of the month for April. Janet and Brenda have been cleaning, painting, and redecorating several rooms in our school. They have brightened things up a great deal and made us all even more proud of our wonderful school. Their generosity, energy, and hard work are all very appreciated! We also give a big “Thank You” to the Eagles for donating most of the paint for these projects.

Brenda Robinson is the mother of 5 present and former I.C. students: Kaitlin, Renee, Nathan, Ashley, and John. They are the fourth generation to attend I.C. School. Brenda states, “ It is great to be a part of great history. There are so many great educators and students that have walked these halls and still are today. I don’t take the past efforts of our elders for granted. I feel as if I’m doing God’s work and it’s all for the kids. This school is the best thing ever going for Immaculate Conception Parish. GOOO Spartans!”

Janet Ramsey’s children attended I.C. School several years ago, and she has been volunteering in various capacities around the school since she retired in 2002. In addition to volunteering in the school cafeteria and helping with these decorating projects, she volunteers with Vacation Bible School, as a wedding assistant for the parish, sings with the funeral choir, and as a lector. Immaculate Conception School would like to honor Barb Phares as the volunteer of the month for March. Barb has served as the chairperson of the PTO’s semi-annual pizza, sub, and burrito sales for the past ten years. She has done an outstanding job of organizing every step of the sales from order blanks to ordering materials to organizing the labor on the day of the sale. She sees it as a way she can give back to the school. Working at the sale has been a great way to get to know other parents and get more involved in the parish.

Barb has served as an Extension Educator for 4-H Youth Development for the past 29 and one half years, 25 of those years for the Ohio State University Extension. She is the county director for the Extension. She and her husband Kent have been married for 29 years, and Barb is the mother of two children. Sam is a freshman at Celina High School and Rebecca is a sixth grader at Immaculate Conception School.

Barb makes the following statement about Immaculate Conception School: “The school is well worth the investment! My son is doing well in school due to his wonderful preparation at I.C. The small class sizes, caring staff, and Christ-centered education have been a real plus for both of my children. The students have countless opportunities to develop leadership and public speaking skills.”

I.C. School and PTO thank Barb for her years of service to this project!
