Welcome to Physical Education (Gym) Class
Hi, my name is Lisa Brunswick, and I am honored to be the Physical Education teacher at IC, as I feel lucky to have attended IC as a student myself. I received my bachelors degree at The Ohio State University. I also enjoy reading, traveling and coaching the Celina cheerleaders, the Laker All-Star cheerleaders and the Celina Dolphins Dive Team.
In P.E. classes, we start with a body management program in kindergarten, then introduce a large variety of games, sports and physical activities in the lower grades, and increase progress and build on teamwork with the older students. Each class begins with a student-led prayer, followed by stretching. The younger students also learn body parts and muscles. In addition to sports and Presidential Physical Fitness, games that promote teamwork are always a favorite. IC students also participate in Cup Stacking and Hoop Shoot contests as well as Jump Rope for the Heart. Staff and students alike look forward to our Field Day at the end of the school year.
We continually focus on good sportsmanship and giving our best effort at every level. Our reward board in the gym encourages each class to show teamwork, listening skills, following directions, and encouragement for each other, as well as giving our best shot. At IC, we discuss how God made each of us special with unique talents and we excel and enjoy different activities, therefore being the best is not the focus, but rather, trying our best and working together!
