Kindergarten - A Special Place to Learn.
Welcome to Kindergarten at I. C. School! My name is Sister Nancy Wolf and I am a Sister of the Precious Blood. I have a Master's degree in Early Childhood Education and love teaching God's special little children. I also enjoy reading,
biking, and vacationing by the ocean.
Kindergarten is an exciting year! Our room invites the children to learn through work and play, to arouse curiosity, to promote independence, to stimulate the imagination, to challenge and develop the intellect, and to encourage the child to explore the environment and to grow in the love of God and others.
Some of the children's favorite activities are walking around the school with special glasses to see rainbows, painting with our feet, making snowmen with balloons, digging for dinosaur bones, building floor puzzles, doing activities with 5th grade buddies, dancing with grandparents, visiting the farm, dressing as pirates and going on a treasure hunt to look for treasures and the letter X, visiting Make Believe Hospital in St. Marys, math, phonics and reading. Of course one of the favorite times during the day is ``Free Choice'' and exploring the many ``hands on'' activities that help us learn. At the end of the day the children like to pray and be blessed. Stop in and see the kindergarten because the children love to share what they have learned and are doing!
